I’m happy to announce that I will be returning to my dear friend Mark Stevens’ amazing yoga studio, October 11th through 13th.
A weekend of slow moving challenging and safe Jivamukti vinyasa style workshops with a focus on breath work, alignment, and awareness of transitions. Each class contains meditation, chanting and yoga philosophy based on chapter 6 (The Yoga of Meditation) of the Bhagavad Gita. The weekend will also include a lecture on the same theme. Open to all levels for the whole weekend or as separate events.

Each workshop contains a long, slow and deep Jivamukti yoga asana sequence with emphasis on alignment and breathing in a meditative atmosphere. The last hour will be for a discussion of pivotal verses in chapters 7, 8 and 9 of the Bhagavad Gita with themes of death, faith, reincarnation, where to look for the divine, how to keep the mind spiritually oriented alongside one’s daily activities and Self knowledge. Each workshop will focus on a long, slow and challenging Jivamukti asana sequence with an emphasis on alignment and breath awareness. Special attention to alignment during transitioning from one asana to the next will be emphasized, as well as correct alignment in asanas.
The 1 hour and 45 minutes asana classes will be followed by one hour discussions on pivotal verses from chapters 4, 5 and 6 of the Bhagavad Gita. Themes of dharma, reincarnation, poetry and karma will be explored. These themes are relevant today and can be put into action resulting in a happier life.
Open to all levels. Come to one, two or all three workshops. Singing and meditation included.

In the asana practice, we will flow, chant and breathe - focusing on back-bending and hip opening. During the group lecture, we will discuss how the yoga philosophy applies to everyday life, your understanding of yourself as well as your internal and external attitudes.

I am happy to say that I will be teaching on Tuesday January 9th from 3-5pm at the Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC. This class is part of the annual Tribe Gathering and can be taken as part of this gathering or independently. I am planning a special and meaningful class, the extended class allows me time to be slow and thorough the way I like in my teaching.
